Bayern Munich maintain perfect record with victory over Darmstadt

Sebastian Rode scored one goal and set up another as Bayern Munich moved top of the Bundesliga with a 3-0 win at promoted Darmstadt 98.
Arturo Vidal fired in off the right post from 25 yards to open the scoring in the 20th minute.
Rode set up Kingsley Coman, 19, in the 62nd minute for the French forward’s first goal for Bayern on his first league start, and then sealed the result a minute later at the second attempt after his first hit the post.
Previously unbeaten Darmstadt, who had been out of the German top flight for 33 years, went close to equalising in the first half against the Bundesliga giants when Dominik Stroh-Engel shot straight at the goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Later, Marcel Heller hit the side netting.
The Darmstadt coach Dirk Schuster said: “The most normal thing in the world happened, Bayern won 3-0 in Darmstadt.”
Javi Martínez came on for Vidal in the 66th minute to return after a serious left knee injury from as far back as August 2014.
