The League Cup is not a competition Arsene Wenger tends to lose sleep over, but Arsenal's third-round tie takes on added significance this year.
Not
only do they face arch rivals Tottenham on Wednesday, but the Gunners
go into the game after losing back-to-back fixtures against Dinamo
Zagreb and Chelsea.
The competition is not important enough to Arsenal to become a make-or-break moment in a season already coming under scrutiny.
But Wenger knows he cannot afford to risk his usual strategy of blooding youngsters in the early rounds of the League Cup.
