Wenger hopeful over Coquelin's knee injury

Francis Coquelin is undergoing scans on the knee injury he suffered in Arsenal’s defeat to Chelsea but Arsene Wenger hopes it will be a “short-term problem”.

The 24-year-old was brought off in the first half of the Gunners’ 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge on Saturday but the full extent of the midfielder’s injury is not yet known.

Arsenal face Tottenham in the League Cup third round on Wednesday but Coquelin will not be available.
