Zlatan Ibrahimovic has ensured that his return to Malmo will have as wide a local audience as possible by booking out the city’s main square for the Champions League match on 25 November.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward was born in the Swedish city and played for the local club between 1999 and 2001 before joining Ajax. He remains an immensely popular figure in Malmo and announced via his Instagram account that he has arranged for the game with PSG to be screened live in the square, with “more surprises” to follow during the day.
PSG will be strong favourites to win against Malmo, having beaten them 2-0 at Parc des Princes in Tuesday night’s matchday one fixture.
