STAT PACK: Son shines for Tottenham

Following a two-goal match-winning display on Thursday night against FK Qarabag, Heung-Min Son added to his growing reputation by leading Tottenham to a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

The South Korean, a summer signing from Bayer Leverkusen, played off Harry Kane in the Spurs attack and worked well with Nacer Chadli and Erik Lamela either side of him.

Despite a vibrant opening half hour, Spurs were kept at bay by a couple of Alex McCarthy saves, before Palace grew into the game and ended the half strongly.

Son saw a couple of shots blocked in the first period but fared better in the second as his high-energy style of play led to a couple of chances for the hosts.

And, while Hugo Lloris tipped a Bakary Sako shot onto the post, Son took Christian Eriksen's pass in his stride before firing low past McCarthy in the 68th minute - the eventual winning goal.
